特种装备制造与先进加工技术国家级国际联合研究中心于2013年9月通过科技部认定。中心依托于机械工程浙江省重中之重一级学科以及控制科学与工程浙江省重中之重学科，下设农业工程装备、超精密加工装备、特种装备结构完整性、机械振动与噪声、装备智能化5个研究分中心。现有专职人员138人，包括共享中国科学院院士1人，国家杰出青年基金获得者3人、国家百千万人才工程2人,部分成员在国际组织担任学术兼职，在国内外具有较重要的学术影响。
中心具有稳定的国际科技合作渠道和较好的**科技合作基础,先后与意大利博洛尼亚大学、澳大利亚新南威尔士大学、日本茨城大学等30余家海外高校和企业开展了多种形式的国际科技合作。近年来，基地承担了国家和省部级项目200余项,农业作业机、压力容器安全评定、微型频率器件等合作成果已实现了产业化，对特种装备领域和长三角地区的国际科技合作起到了引导和示范作用。
International Research Center of Special Purpose Equipment and Advanced Manufacturing Technology(IRC-E&M) is identified by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Sep. 2013. The center is based on the Zhejiang Provincial Top Key Discipline of Mechanical Engineering and Control Engineering. IRC-E&M has five research sub-centers including agricultural engineering equipment, ultra-precision machining equipment, structure integrity of special equipment, mechanical vibration and noise, intelligent equipment. IRC-E&M is staffed with 138 senior scientific research members, including one shared CAS academician, 2 National On-thousand-talents Schemes, 3 National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 2 National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project. Some staffs hold posts on international organizations, and have important academic influence at home and abroad.
With a wide and stable international academic exchanges channels, IRC-E&M has executed various communications with numbers of foreign universities and research institutes including University of Bologna, University of New South Wales, Ibaraki University, et al. In recent years, the center has undertaken over 200 national/provincial-level projects, and agricultural machinery, pressure vessel security evaluation and micro frequency devices have been industrialized, which generated guide and demonstration effects for special equipment areas and Yangtze river delta region.
